This is my blog, the chronicles of my adventures, leaving behind everything I had in Tennessee, as a single mother with teenage twin boys to literally start my life over. It was time for a change, and the risk I figured was worth it. My sons and I left the home I owned for 13 years and all that was familiar to start a new life. And shit, let me keep it real, a major motivating factor was the fact that I was sick and tired of not meeting any quality men where I lived and not having someone to be my winter boo, or spring, summer or fall boo for that matter! Not to mention the endless cycle of online dating, which led to long distance dating. I am 44 years old and tired of sitting back waiting on love to find me, especially since I have a vested interest in this thing.
So according to my Facebook friends, I should start a blog…so I did. These are the stories of my new dating adventures in Atlanta, GA. And let me tell you, the stories are plentiful already.
What is the purpose of this blog? Well honestly, I don’t know, but I’ve been told I’m a good story teller, and boy do I have some stories to tell. Being over 40 and single in a city that has been deemed a recipe for disaster for single black females, I am writing this blog to dispel the myth that because supposedly men out number women here, making it impossible to find a good man (and the ones that are left over are all gay), and to encourage other sisters over 40 that may be starting over, that dating in Atlanta does not have to be hard and there are indeed plenty of options. Now, that goes without saying, you may have to kiss a few frogs first, but trust me, I am determined to show you that true love can be found in this pretentious city of the south.
So enjoy the ride, because the game has truly changed. But you know what, pimping ain’t easy!
Oh, and before anyone says it…yes I know I favor Kelly Rowland!!
